I love the idea of an all-natural fake tanner, but all the brands I have tried over the years have left me completely underwhelmed. They either leave a patchy appearance that borders on orange, or dry my skin out way too much, to the point it is flaking off and itchy. I came across Ivadore recently and loved the idea of their product so much, and was so excited when they sent me a bottle of self tanner to review.
Ivadore is Australian owned and made, vegan friendly and contains no nasty ingredients. Ivadore has created an ultra antioxidant formulation that is designed to give an even, sun-kissed looking tan all while helping to fight the ageing process and keep the skin toned, hydrated and youthful.
The reason I was drawn to this tanner over others on the market is that the formula has been developed with the inclusion of a rare and expensive self-tanning agent derived from red raspberry. This claims to eliminate common issues with self tanners such as patchiness, orange tones, offensive odours, stained clothing and bedding, and dried out skin. It is suitable for sensitive skin and contains natural and certified organic ingredients such as Organic Coconut Water, Organic Marshmallow Extract, Coffee Extract, Watermelon and Passion Fruit Oil. This tanner is designed to develop over 8 hours, but will continue to develop for 24 hours without mess or smell.
How does Ivadore's tanning formula work so well?
The secret to this natural beauty wonder is plant-derived technology that begins with a rare expensive ingredient, Erythrulose, which is a natural sugar extracted from red raspberries. Most self-tanning products do not contain the ingredient due to it’s high price, but Ivadore believes the benefits are too great to compromise. When Erythrulose is applied to the skin it reacts with the amino acids of the keratin found in the top layer of skin. This nontoxic reaction creates a temporary browning effect, akin to a natural UV-based tan. Ivadore’s tanning treatment also incorporates a premium form of DHA (dihydroxyacetone) the ingredient found in most tanning products. This tanner really surpassed my expectations, and renewed my faith in all-natural tanners. This tanner is so easy to apply. I apply like a moisturiser to my skin after a shower, when my skin is completely dry and freshly exfoliated. I make sure I apply an equal amount to each limb and rub in evenly and completely. After applying, I make sure to wash my hands really well to prevent that unfortunate 'orange palms' look. I also make sure to wait a few minutes before dressing to ensure the tanner has dried. I hold off showering again until the next morning, giving the formula a full 24 hours to work its magic.

After just one application
I love how natural this tan looks with my skin tone. It gives the most gorgeous sun kissed glow after just one application; enough to give me a healthy looking tan without any orange tones or streaking. Darker skin tones may wish to apply two applications in order to create a deeper tan. I love the very faint scent this product has, and the fact it doesn't stain my clothes/bedding. This tanner actually lasts a full week on me, and fades naturally, without any patchiness.
This is the ONLY natural tanner I have tried that hasn't dried out my skin, and for that plus the above reasons, this has become my absolute favourite fake tanner.
