Review: Silk'n Flash & Go Luxx 120K Laser

About a month ago, one of the best PR packages I have received arrived, and I have been so excited to share what it is with you!

Hair removal is one of those tedious tasks that plague many women, and some men. As a result of genetics and hormonal imbalances, I have struggled with excess and dark hair all over my body for years. I personally have mainly stuck to a razor, depilatories and a tweezer for hair removal, but find it frustrating how quickly the hair grows back, and how stubbly it is. I am also too much of a scaredy-cat to wax myself! I have always dreamed of getting laser hair removal done in a clinic so I could have hair free arms. However, clinic treatments are expensive and time consuming, and I would prefer something I could use in the privacy of my own home.

Enter the Silk'n Flash & Go Luxx 120K.

The Flash & Go Luxx is an at home personal hair removal device that promises permanent hair removal. It offers a lifetime cartridge of 120,000 pulses - no extra cartridges needed and more than enough to remove all unwanted hair from the face and body. It is able to treat an area of 4cm square at a time, making it faster and easier to remove hair!

How does it work?
The FDA-approved device glides over the skin and disables hair growth with each pulse.

The Flash and Go Luxx is suitable for women and men and is ideal for use on lower legs, underarms, forearms, bikini line and face. It is suitable for use on most skin tones, however it works best on hair that is black or dark brown. It has 5 different intensity levels, so treatment can be altered depending on skin tone and sensitivity. Pictured below is a chart showing the advised levels for certain skin types and hair colours. The Flash and Go features a built-in skin sensor that measures the skin tone and complexion of the individual, not allowing treatment of skin that is too dark or tanned.

How long does it take to get results?
As it takes up to 18-24 months for a full hair growth cycle, multiple sessions may be needed to achieve efficient hair removal. Treatments are completed once a fortnight for the first 3-4 sessions, and then monthly until hair removal goals are achieved. Most individuals start to notice hair reduction after the first 3 or 4 sessions.

To test this device out, I mainly focused on my armpits and arms. I was hesitant at pressing the button the first few times as I was unsure as to how much it would hurt. To my surprise, the sensation was not painful at all, and only slightly uncomfortable at level 5. The sensation at higher levels is akin to a warming snapping sensation that is not even enough to say 'ouch' about.

I have now used this laser three times, and have already noticed a slight reduction of hair underneath my armpits, and the hair remaining seems to be growing at a slower rate. My arm hairs are less noticeable so it is harder to tell if they have decreased. I hope that in the near future I will be able to report hair free skin!

Overall, I would really recommend this to anyone that is looking for a permanent hair removal solution. The fact that this can be used for the privacy of your own home is just a bonus!

I will write another post in the near future with an update to how my hair removal is going, so stay tuned for that!

In the meantime, check out the Silk'n website to purchase your own device. This particular device retails for $439, which may seem expensive to some people, but to me seems like a huge save in money when you consider the lifetime cost of razors or the cost of salon laser treatments.

*I received this product in exchange for an honest review.
