Shu Uemura Play Date 2017 Spring Summer Collection

I recently was sent several products from the Shu Uemura Play Date 2017 Spring Summer Collection, and am loving the range so much I needed to share my thoughts.

Shu Uemura's Spring Summer Collection is reminiscent of 70's and 80's fashion, and is all about cute pastel colours to brighten up your makeup look.

I know I'm not the only lady (or man) out there that has found comfort in sticking to their everyday neutral makeup shades, but this collection has got me out of my comfort zone, and reaching for brighter, but surprisingly wearable, shades.

Drawing Pencil in Sky Blue

This drawing pencil is the smoothest and creamiest eyeliner I have come across. It glides across the lash line or waterline with ease, and has incredible pigmentation. It quickly sets to give smudge-proof, waterproof, all day wear. I never thought I would enjoy a bright blue eyeliner, but I have been reaching for this more often that I thought I would, especially to pair with the Shu Uemura eyeshadows pictured below. I need to get more colours of these pencils as the formula is simply incredible!

Play Date Eye & Cheek Palette in Water Slide Blue

This palette contains three eyeshadows and one blush (that could also be used as an eyeshadow). The shadows are shimmers, while the blush adds a gorgeous glowing flush to the cheeks without looking glittery. All of the powders in this palette are soft, smooth and pigmented, and the eyeshadows apply to the lids without any fallout.
When it comes to the packaging, this is where Shu Uemura blows it out of the park. The slim palette is a cute baby pink shade, and comes with a quality mirror which makes makeup application easy. The palette is actually reusable, and the shades can be actually swapped out with other individual shades available on Shu Uemura's site, so you have the option to tailor the shades to your exact needs.

Play Date Rouge Unlimited Sheer Shine in Pink Punch

I fell in love with this from the moment I saw the packaging. The silver packaging with the clear lid looks luxe and high end. Pink Punch is a gorgeous, sheer pinky shade that adds a natural touch of colour to the lips, while hydrating and adding shine. The formula contains subtle gold shimmers that add to the shine this leaves on your lips. This glides onto my lips feeling like the smoothest lip balm I have ever used! This is the perfect product for no makeup days, when you just want the slightest flush of colour.

The Shu Uemura Spring Summer Collection was my introduction to Shu Uemura's product range, and I have to say I was left feeling impressed! I need to try more Shu now!!
