Review: Estee Lauder Double Wear Nude Cushion Stick Radiant Makeup

Top to Bottom: Cool Bone, Ivory Beige, Fresco, Ecru.

I have been curious about this product for a while now, so when I found myself in a MYER in Sydney, I jumped at the opportunity to get colour tested and walked away with ten day testers in the shades Ecru and Cool Bone.

Touch on, buff and blend to your perfect nude. Polishes and evens skintone for a healthy-looking glow. Skin-loving, weightless and comfortable formula instantly hydrates. 8-hour wear. Sheer-to-Medium Coverage, Buildable. Radiant finish.

I have had the opportunity to test out this cushion stick foundation for a bit over a week. I quickly discovered that although I could get both shades to work for me, Cool Bone was too pink toned for my liking. I simply applied Ecru in dots all over my face and then began to blend it out until I got a smooth finish. I added extra in areas that needed a little more coverage (read: blemishes). I found it evened out my skin tone quite well but still allowed my freckles and pores to peek through. I applied concealer over the top to blemishes.

Left to Right: Cool Bone, Ecru.

I was pleased with the way it didn't seem to emphasize any dry patches and the way it left my skin looking glowy and radiant. It did live up to the claimed '8 hours of wear', and I actually felt it looked better as the day went on and it 'melted' into my skin. It also did not oxidise which is a huge plus in my books!

As my tester was not in the full-size packaging, it obviously did not contain the cushion that you use to apply the product it disperses. However, I feel like I got a natural look with a foundation stick or my fingers, and I'm curious to see the finish the cushion gives.

Please find below the full ingredients list for Estee Lauder's Double Wear Nude Cushion Stick. I struggled to find a full ingredients list online so I contacted them and they were more than happy to send me this list. I personally do not like trying a product unless I have the full ingredients in front off me so I have some idea of if it is suitable for my skin (fragrance free, irritant free, essential oil free etc.)

I like that the formulation is alcohol free, and not full of irritating plant extracts and essential oils. It contains Methyldihydrojasmonate, which is a type of fragrance, but it is featured far enough down the list for it to not worry me. It also does not contain zinc oxide; a sunscreen and common makeup ingredient which dries my skin out completely.

I did not find this makeup to irritate my sensitive skin, or break it out. I loved the look it gave my skin, and I will definitely purchasing the full-size in Ecru!
