I love makeup. And when makeup is used to raise awareness about important causes, I find myself quite passionate about supporting it as much as I can. Bobbi Brown's 'Pretty Powerful' Campaign is one such campaign I strongly stand behind, as its main aim is to empower women in need.
The 'Pretty Powerful' campaign was launched by Bobbi Brown this March 2017, to highlight the work of international non-profit Kiva. Kiva has helped more than 2 million women in 82 countries secure microloans that allow them to pursue an education or start a small business. These microloans are fulfilled by people visiting Kiva.org who choose to lend money to the campaign of their choice, in amounts of 25 dollars or more, until the borrower's full loan request is 'crowdfunded'. As the woman repays, lenders can relend the same money to another person at Kiva.org or withdraw their money.
To support the critical role that education plays in lifting women and girls out of poverty, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics has made a donation of $300K to Kiva to support projects that will specifically benefit women and girls around the world who want to go to school, start or grow a business, and overall, realise their potential.
To raise awareness about the effect that microloans can have on women around the world, Bobbi Brown has introduced a limited edition shade of their iconic Pot Rouge, decorated with the 'Pretty Powerful' campaign.
This creamy, balmy rouge is a universally flattering dusty pink shade that is the perfect multitasking colour. It can be worn on lips or cheeks for a gorgeous, natural flush of colour.
The Pretty Powerful Pot Rouge retails for $50.
