Review: HempMe Certified Organic Face Cream

I just love innovative and sustainable companies, so when HempMe Skincare reached out to me to see if I would be interested in trying out their Hemp based Face Cream, it was an offer I couldn't refuse!

HempMe are a Melbourne based company that are dedicated to bringing you natural and organic skincare. Hempme is here to help educate and straighten the story about nature’s most giving plant. No plant on earth has featured throughout history with the persistence of the hemp plant. Used across the globe to produce clothing, paper, shelter, rope, canvas, food, fuels and medicine – you will not find a more versatile plant.

Their face cream focuses around hemp seed oil - cold pressed from the seed of the hemp plant. Proclaimed to be the most balanced oil found in nature, hemp seed oil displays a wide variety of skin loving benefits. It contains high amounts of all essential amino acids, and is a rich source of linoleic acid; best known for its ability to hydrate and protect the skin. Hemp seed oil is antifungal and antibacterial, and can be useful for a variety of skin issues.

Did you know that an acre of hemp grown in 12-14 weeks produces as much paper as up to 4 acres of trees which take years to grow? Hemp is also apparently the only plant on the planet that can feed you, clothe you, house you, and heal you.

HempMe's Face Cream is 100% naturally derived, and 95% certified organic. All ingredients are vegan and cruelty free, and their cute packaging is completely biodegradable.

Besides the use of sustainable and skin nutritious Hemp Seed Oil, HempMe also utilises ingredients such as aloe vera (emollient and packed with vitamins, minerals, amino acids and EFA's), chamomile extract (anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal and antiseptic properties), jojoba oil (an oil that closely resembles the oils our skin naturally produces), and Kakadu plum oil (highest source of vitamin C found in nature).

I use this moisturiser straight after cleansing on clean skin. It has a thin texture, absorbs quickly with no residue, and hydrates my dry skin well. I feel like this moisturiser would suit all skin types, from oily to dry, due to its light texture that still hydrates well. It is free of common pore clogging ingredients, which acne-prone types will appreciate.

This face cream has a light lemon myrtle/citrus scent which is pleasant and due to the natural essential oils it contains. I feel like this is a great universal moisturiser that the whole family could use and love.

I love this company, and hope they expand their range in the future to include a cleanser, and possibly a sunscreen? ;)
