I am someone that always loves getting my nails done as often as I can. Unfortunately I find it hard to afford to get them done regularly, so I was beyond excited when a package from Opallac arrived in the mail. Gel nails in the comfort of my home; too good to be true? Keep reading to find out my thoughts on Opallac's Gel Polish Kit!
Opallac's Gel Polish Kit has been designed to contain everything you need to DIY your gel manicure from home. It claims to last up to 14 days (as with other gel manicures), and have no drying time!
The Opallac Gel Polish Kit contains:
- Opallac 7Watt UV LED lamp
- Gel colour polish x3
- Gel base coat
- Gel top coat
- 2-in-1 shine and soak solution
- Cotton pads
- Nail file
- Nail Buffer
- Instruction Kit
Opallac also sell their polishes individually so you can add different colours to your collection, which is so handy!
Opallac's Gel Polish is easy to use, you just follow their steps, and you are well on your way to creating beautiful nails.
Step 1: Shape and file nails. Wash hands to remove any natural oils, creams etc. Lightly buff nail surface with a fine grain emery.
Step 2: Apply thin layer of base coat. Cure for 90 seconds in the lamp
Step 3. Apply thin layer of colour polish. Cure for 90 seconds in the lamp. Repeat.
Step 4: Apply thin layer of top coat. Cure for 90 seconds in the lamp.
Step 5: Remove the sticky residue from nails by using cotton wool soaked in the shine and soak solution, and rubbing over each nail.
DONE!
I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to use this nail kit. I am a total amateur at painting my nails, and even I managed to create decent looking nails. I feel that with a bit of practice I should be able to get my nails looking professional!
To use, I completed one hand entirely, before moving on to the other. Ensure that each layer is thin, or the polish will get onto the skin and lift! I also recommend using your phone as a timer as the lamp doesn't have a timer, and you need to make sure each layer is cured for 90 seconds.
Overall, I am so obsessed with this Gel Polish Kit, and I feel like with practice, I won't even have to visit the nail salon. My nails last as long as they would if I was visiting the salon (up to two weeks), and I can do them from the comfort of my own home!
