Rimmel is one of my favourite drugstore foundations, and is a brand that has been killing it with their new releases lately! I got my hands on some more of their newest releases (and one reformulation), and now I have had a good chance to test them out, I wanted to share my thoughts with you guys.
Keep reading to see what I thought on these new releases, and where you can get them from!
Wake Me Up Skin Brightening Foundation
This foundation was recently reformulated and now contains vitamin C and radiance pearls to instantly brighten and reawaken skin, even out skin tone, and reduce dullness for a radiant and healthy glow.
This foundation comes in glass packaging, with a plastic orange lid, and a convenient pump to disperse the product.
I did not get the chance to try the old formulation of this foundation, so unfortunately I can't compare the two, but I have to say I am loving this new formulation. I received the lightest shade; 100 Ivory, which is a great match for my pale skin, however those paler than me should be aware that this foundation does run dark shade-wise. For me this isn't a big deal, I will just mix with some shade adjusting drops when I get paler in winter. This foundation contains SPF 20, which I love and appreciate, as any additional sun protection is welcomed. Heads up to those that are scent sensitive, this foundation has a noticeable citrus scent, but I find it doesn't linger, and it hasn't seemed to noticeably irritate my skin.
As far as the formulation, this product is right up my alley! It feels so light on the skin, blends super quick with a beauty sponge (my favourite tool for foundation), and gives such natural looking medium coverage. It gives a gorgeous radiance to my skin and blurs over any dry patches on my skin, leaving my skin looking smooth and healthy. I found this lasted well all day with a primer, and didn't noticeably oxidise on my skin. I can't attest to its wearability for those with oily skin, but for dry skin, I give it two thumbs up!
Wake Me Up Skin Brightening Concealer
Rimmel's brightening concealer erases signs of tiredness and daily stress for fresh eyes with an immediate awakened look.
Wake Me Up Concealer comes as a tube concealer with a doe foot applicator, which makes application simple. This creamy concealer provides medium coverage to my undereyes and blemishes and is a great concealer for everyday makeup looks, when you want a more natural look. It doesn't crease on my undereyes when I set it with powder, and only minimally creases when I am lazy and don't bother setting it. Like the foundation, the concealer shades run quite dark too. Shade 010 Ivory is a pretty good match for my pale skin, but a slightly lighter shade would be appreciated to provide a brightening effect on my undereyes. I find this blends super easy and doesn't go patchy throughout the day, and for these reasons, as well as its natural finish, is why I have been reaching for this everyday.
Insta Fix and Go 2 In 1 Primer & Setting Spray
This makeup spray is so unique in that it can be used as a primer (before makeup), and also as a setting spray to make makeup last longer. The fine mist bottle allows for easy and quick dispersion of product.
Unpopular opinion, but I am generally not a fan of setting sprays because they contain high levels of alcohol which is bad for the skin, and instead utilise primers and powders to help my makeup last the day. However, this spray didn't seem to irritate my skin when applying before and after makeup, and left my skin with a healthy glow. It has a cucumber scent, and feels refreshing on my skin. It also helped my makeup last all day.

They all sound amazing. I had a feeling the Ivory shade might be a bit too dark for me too but with a tan it should be ok. I could also use my light adjusting drops to change it. 😊
ReplyDeleteLoved your review! Unfortunately this foundation looks like it's more suited to dry skin and I have oily skin
