Review: Young Blood Cosmetics

Youngblood is a brand I have been hearing about for years, so I was so excited to finally get my paws on some of their products and test them out for you guys! I have been trialling them for at least a month now, and wanted to share my thoughts.

Youngblood was founded by Pauline Youngblood Soli. Pauline; a pioneer in the industry, developed her first cosmetic products in a medical setting, specifically for patients recovering from harsh medical procedures, such as laser or chemical peels, surgeries, and even cancer treatments. Her patients experienced such dramatic success that they continued using her formulas long after their skin had healed, and urged her to make them commercially available.

"Today, Youngblood is the premier mineral cosmetic line available, because of the luxury formulation, ideal milling process, and chic, upscale image and packaging. From the first moment you brush it on, you'll notice the incredibly silky feel, and a polished, natural finish, unlike any other makeup you've ever tried. Clean and lightweight, it allows your skin to breathe and is non-comedogenic (it won't block pores or cause irritation). Even with our flawless coverage, you'll feel like you're wearing no makeup at all. And unlike other mineral cosmetics, Youngblood never looks "glittery"; instead you'll radiate a natural, healthy glow. It's no wonder Youngblood has emerged as the clear standard, used in upscale skin care clinics and med-spas around the world."

Contour Palette
This powder contour palette contains six shades; three matte highlighting and three matte contouring shades that are perfect for all skin types. I use the first row of shades (the lightest), and find them perfect for my pale skin. I can see myself using the medium tones in summer, so its handy having a palette where I have shades that suit me no matter the season. I use the matte highlighter shades anywhere I want to add light to my face, and even to set my undereye concealer. As the contour powder is more of a neutral tone (not grey toned), I find I can use it as a bronzer, as well for contouring. Both powders are soft and pigmented, but blend out so easily on the skin. I don't think I will find use for the deepest shades of this palette on my face, but they could definitely be used for eyeshadow in a pinch!
I also wanted to mention that with this palette comes a super handy pamphlet on how and where to contour, which is super helpful and a great inclusion.

Lipstick
I received a lippie in the shade Seduce, which is a perfect plum/wine shade. This shade is perfect for the current winter weather, and suits my colouring so well. The formula is so moisturising, and the lipstick glides on so nicely to the lips. It needs reapplying throughout the day as it is moisturising and not transfer proof, but I don't mind as it is more important for me at the moment to have comfortable feeling lips than have a long lasting lipstick!

Mineral Radiance
I received two bronzer shades; Sunshine and Sundance. Sunshine is a soft, luminescent terracotta shade that looks super flattering on my pale skin (it mimics the slight red undertones I get when I spend a long day in the sun, so super natural on my skin!). Sundance is a multi-dimensional bronzer containing four shades that I mix together to create a soft, peachy all over glow. They can also be used separately for bronzing, contouring, highlighting or even eyeshadow. Both powders are super finely milled and soft, and blend so easily. Most importantly, they last all day on the skin, and don't disappear or go patchy. Both are already mainstays in my collection!

Brow Artiste Kit
This kit is perfect for anyone wanting to create the perfect brows; beginner or artist! It contains two pigmented powders, one wax, a pair of tweezers, and a dual ended brow brush. I received the Brunette kit, which is perfect for my medium brown brows. I generally use the darker shade on the outer half of my brow to create a longer tail, and the lighter shade on the inner half. I use the spoolie to comb through the wax to set my brows and keep them in place all day. This is a perfect kit to take travelling as it contains everything you need in one small package! Love it.

CC Perfecting Primer
Saving the best for last! This primer comes out of the package looking like a CC cream in appearance, which totally surprised me for some reason. It massages into my skin easily, ands adds a light coverage to my skin that balances my skin tone, reducing darkness and redness slightly. And guys! This stuff makes my skin feel so so soft and nice! This primer is rich in peptides and gives a satin matte finish, which isn't drying on my skin, as matte finishes generally are. This provides a perfect base and makeup products just glide onto my skin, blending seamlessly. It also extends the wear of my makeup. This is honestly the best primer I have tried on my dry skin! I need a lifetime stock of this product.
